Following the match, Balor went on to cut a promo stating that he's going to be coming back sooner rather than later to reclaim what's his, but still had some bad news as he revealed her hasn't yet been medically cleared to wrestle before celebrating with Nakamura.
Fans have been counting down the days to Finn Balor's highly anticipated return to the WWE following the shoulder injury he sustained against Seth Rollins at the SummerSlam pay-per-view. The former champion appeared during Wednesday night's WWE NXT television tapings at the University of Central Florida.
The Bray native returned to the ring, in what was advertised only hours before hand, to help Shinsuke Nakamura fight off the NXT Champion Bobby Roode, and Andrade "Cien" Almas.
Roode attacked his opponent from behind before the bout could get underway but Ohno responded with a barrage of elbows and a meaty clothesline to send the champion fleeing. Nakamura also recovered from the initial set back when Almas and Roode double-teamed against him and stepped in to finish Roode with a Kinshasa. He was presumably referring to his former title, the WWE Universal Championship, held now by Kevin Owens.
Several observers suggested that Balor's appearance was likely a dark segment only for the live crowd and that the footage would not air on the March 22 episode of NXT. At WrestleMania itself, though, Goldberg will be busy with a match against Brock Lesnar, and Kevin Owens is widely expected to have a match against Chris Jericho.
