The official Xbox Live Status Page lists "core services" as "limited" on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Windows 10 and other devices, indicating a pretty broad outage across Microsoft's software ecosystem. On social media, dozens of people are complaining that they can not access certain games, apps, and other content on their Xbox devices.
The Microsoft Office 365 service health dashboard acknowledges the problems and says that Microsoft is looking into it.
But whether this server slowdown is just the result of thousands of people rushing to buy the game digitally, or some sort of coordinated hack meant to annoy people like many other times this has happened, remains to be seen. Microsoft says that shouldn't be allowed to happen. Of the current situation, Xbox has offered a response via the Xbox Live Service Status Page as well as Twitter.
"We are aware that some users are experiencing difficulties signing in to some services".
You may have trouble playing games or signing onto Xbox Live. "Our engineers are working to fully resolve this as soon as possible", a Microsoft spokesperson told IBT.
No reason for the outage or an estimate of when the cloud services will be back online has been given.
Skype, as of 2 p.m. CST, has not addressed the outage.
