Entitled Humanz, the album was announced via the virtual band's website.
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's experimental band of strangers is finally back after a long hiatus, and it's got a new album coming out on April 28th.
Plus stay tuned for an interview with Gorillaz on the new album art, which will appear in the May issue of Creative Review.
Can you say, feels good?
On BBC Radio 1, Albarn said "Humanz" is a "party record" that's also "inspired by Trump". Goth-punk powerhouse Jehnny Beth acts as the chorus' fiery leader as they all sing, "We've got the power to be loving each other no matter what happens". "That was our dark fantasy and unfortunately it became reality".
But, yeah, here's the "Saturnz Barz" video, because who has time to listen to four whole songs in this day and age?
Describing their new musical offering, Blur frontman Albarn told Radio X: "Simply put, we're in transition, we're turning into something else".
In addition to the new tracks, Gorillaz released a six-minute film titled "Saturnz Barz (Spirit House)" with a version formatted for 360 degrees. This week, a tracklist leaked, which shows songs featuring Vince Staples, Pusha T, Danny Brown, Mavis Staples, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., and more.
"We Got the Power" with Jehnny Beth takes nearly a minute to get going, but once the track picks up, it's another fun entry on the album.
Speaking with BBC before premiering "Saturnz Barz" yesterday, Albarn said that the album was inspired by a "dark fantasy" he had previous year.
