Forsyth had 4,100 years of premature death, compared to the averages of nation's top performers, 5,200, and state, 7,300.
Luzerne, Carbon and Schuylkill counties are among the 15 unhealthiest counties in the state, according an annual report released this week that rates each county on overall health. Many organizations have worked tirelessly over the last 20 years to address smoking rates, physical activity, nutrition, and alcohol use.
Peters said parts of St. Clair County are registered as "medically-professional shortage areas". Areas of strength include its low number of uninsured residents, inactive adults and excessive drinkers, as well as the high number of residents with at least some college education.
KINGSTON, N.Y. Ulster County is continuing its upward climb as one of the healthiest counties in the state, while Dutchess County is headed in the opposite direction, according to rankings newly released by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
