Snoop spoke about his fallen friend, calling him "the greatest rapper of all time" and even shared a amusing story about going parasailing with him. He said he attended Friday night's ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to ensure the rapper, actor and poet is remembered as a "strong black man that stood for his".
Snoop also called Tupac, "the greatest rapper of all time", and said, "Pac embraced those contradictions that proved that we aren't just a character in someone else's comic book".
During his moving speech, Snoop, 45, reflected on several of his most memorable moments with Shakur before he was killed in a 1996 drive-by shooting at the age of 25.
Snoop was getting anxious, he recalled, as they continued to dip into the water, but during their time floating over the water, Shakur began to tell Snoop that he saw an acting career in his future.
