Ming Chi Kuo, whose analysis of Apple and its supply chain is highly regarded, says that Apple will not begin ramping up production of the iPhone 8 until October or November.

However, the delay and severe shortages for the new model are not expected to affect new lower-end editions that will not have the new screens and will largely resemble the exterior design of the past three iPhone models, Kuo wrote.

According to Kuo, the iPhone 8's "significant hardware upgrades" are to blame for the production slip, with the iPhone 8's significantly tweaked design causing headaches.

Sorry folks, but It's looking more and more like the iPhone 8 won't be widely available until the start of next year. Most customers who want the new iPhone will simply buy it when it is finally available even if that means early 2018.

This is getting serious: While Apple-related rumors are never to be fully trusted, we now have almost every credible source and leaker chirping in unison that Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 might be one or even two months late. We believe this could be due to the time needed to finalize many innovative new designs. Another risk comes from competitors Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, Vivo and Xiaomi, which are getting ready to release "high-end full-screen smartphones" this year, which could impact sales of the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus because those iPhones "do not have full-screen form factors", Kuo said.

The iPhone 8, which features several major components that Apple custom-ordered specifically for the smartphone, will still be released in September. While some reports have said Apple is pushing hard for a September launch, other scattered reports said that the iPhone 8 release might be pushed back anywhere from four to eight weeks.

It's thought the next smartphone from Apple will include a number of exciting new features with faster A11 processor, improved cameras and wireless charging all expected. The new model is expected to omit the home button in favor of a Function Area, reported MacRumors.
