Now operating primarily from Hardwar, Patanjali is looking to set up facilities at destinations such as Noida, Nagpur and Indore, among others, that would take his production capacity to Rs 60,000 crore in the next one year from Rs 35,000 crore now. "Honey (sales) is around Rs 350 crore and would grow to Rs 500-Rs 600 crore this year". In the previous fiscal year, the consumer products business under Patanjali Ayurved contributed Rs 9,634 crore to the turnover. When Baba Ramdev addressed a packed audience in Delhi's Constitution Club on Thursday, people waited with baited breath to hear what he had to say.

Patanjali has just declared emphatic victory over other traditional FMCG players, by clocking Rs 10,216 crore revenue in 2016-17.

Besides, the Haridwar-based company has also planned to expand its footprint across the country, and has set its eyes on a slice of the restaurant sector that has been dominated by numerous multi-national chains.

Comparing his products to global brands in the country, the yoga guru said: "In India, FMCG has meant multinationals so far". It has the capacity to make products worth 300 billion rupees and plans to double that next year, he said. From around Rs 2,000 crore in 2014-15, the company has managed to grow its revenue exponentially. Patanjali has been selling products of daily use like shampoos, dairy products, noodles etc.

Baba said, "We are working on the business plan and branding".

In 10 years since its founding, Patanjali has grown its market share to 1.2 per cent share in beauty and personal care market as of 2015, Bloomberg reported.

Patanjali's Ayurved division is the star performer for the brand.

Patanjali's oral brand Danta Kanti has recorded annual sales figures of Rs 940 crore.
