Opera's Latest Browser Comes With WhatsApp And Facebook Built Into It

Opera's Reborn Beta Browser Build for Desktops Gets Social Messenger Integration

Opera noted that many people keep a browser tab open to their favourite messaging service throughout the day.

As part of its latest browser update, officially known as Opera v45 or "Reborn", Opera has added a separate communication panel that lets you chat with friends while browsing the web.

The browser, dubbed Opera Reborn, allows users to pin Facebook, WhatsApp and Telegram messaging apps to the left side of the browser. However, switching between tabs when responding to a message has been cumbersome and inefficient, until now. "That's why we bring you Opera Reborn, the first browser to allow messengers to reside within your browser, without the need to install any extensions or apps", said Krystian Kolondra, Opera's head of browser products, in a blog post.

Opera has taken the wraps of Reborn, the latest incarnation of its desktop browser product.

These sidebar widgets are unique to Opera, and something not present in any other browser.

The new UI, pictured above, is called "Reborn", and was initially announced in February when Opera added it to Opera 44 Developer Edition. By default, the sidebar flyout will hide automatically once you click out of it - but if you pin the sidebar, it will work side-by-side with whatever website you are browsing.

If you use more than one messenger, you can switch between them by using shortcut keys. Animations, per Opera, "make the Reborn interface more alive and playful". You can also share photos online as well as sign out of the messaging apps directly from the browser. Now the regular Opera implements one of its best features - pinning messengers in the desktop browser. After facing questioning from users, the company told Ars Technica the sites "offer a good experience to users with ads on".
