Sean Spicer Is Reportedly Leaving The Briefing Room

No cameras no audio White House keeps undermining press briefing

WASHINGTON, June 19 The White House is considering shifting press secretary Sean Spicer away from the daily spokesman role and into a senior communications role but no such move is imminent, a senior White House official said on Monday. Recently, the White House has begun to stipulate that they are both off-camera and off-mic.

Spicer's time at the White House briefing room podium in recent weeks has decreased amid rumors that Spicer would soon transition to a different role, with some suggesting the President was unhappy with Spicer's performance in the public-facing role.

He called the situation "bizarre", and said, "I don't know why everyone is going along tight this".

"If he can't come out and answer the questions, and they're just not going to do this on camera or audio, why are we even having these briefings or these gaggles in the first place?" "It feels like we're sort of slowly but but surely being dragged into what is a new normal in this country". Spicer and Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders have continued to hold briefings, but they have on occasion prohibited cameras.

The president and top White House aides have reportedly criticized Spicer for his response to several high-profile incidents, including Trump's firing of James Comey as FBI director and an investigation into leakers within the communications staff, but Spicer is still considered one of the president's greatest assets. Some networks, like CNN, MSNBC, and C-SPAN, have instead carried the audio of the briefings live.

"Spicer should be elevated and if he's not, I would not blame him for leaving", a White House official told Politico.

"I don't understand why we covered that gaggle today, quite honestly, Brooke", Acosta said.
