Google Search makes it easier to find jobs in the US

Google's pitch to employers and career site owners is that Google for Jobs can offer a "prominent place" in search results for specific job listings, which could increase the likelihood that job seekers click on those listings. Expect more improvements in the coming months as Google and these companies continue to work on the database and documentation. With job postings scattered across the web, newspapers and help wanted signs, it's not always easy to find ones that are a good fit based on your unique needs and skills. Today sees the grand plan come to fruition, with Google Search users in the US, on both desktop and mobile, now able to view a collation of open positions based on their search query. The biggest factor is the fact that Google will index postings not only from job boards but also any corporate websites which implement the new formatting standard released in conjunction with the search feature.

These results will get prominent placement in Search results, Google says, complete with "your logo, reviews, ratings, and job details".

The company said it's already working with a number of services, such as LinkedIn, Monster, WayUp, DirectEmployers, CareerBuilder, Glassdoor, and Facebook, to aggregate posts from their sites as well. However, it appears that "jobs" will suffice, as our testing of the service showed the search results defaulted to the user's location. The new search service can also let users know how long it will take to drive to the new job. Now, Google is rolling out a series of functions aimed at making job searches less stressful. Google is known to index everything, so it is also going to pull in listings from the company's official websites. Just turn on alerts for your search to receive an email notification whenever new jobs arrive, keeping you up-to-date and on top of your job hunt.

We want to hear from you. Then this AI-powered categorizes the jobs and help the search engines to understand the job posting.

Nick Zakrasek, the Google staffer who led the development of the project, told TechCrunch that vacancies published to multiple sites are filtered to improve the user experience.
