Inter Milan v Chelsea Lineups; Live ESPN3 Stream and GameCast

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte

The Montenegrin teed up Ivan Perisic to drill home Inter's second from a narrow angle, but Chelsea, which started club-record signing Alvaro Morata on the left of a front three, was given a lifeline when Kondogbia somehow lobbed goalkeeper Daniele Padelli with a wild back-pass from 45 yards.

Luckily for Kondogbia, the goal did not cost Inter as Chelsea were unable to find an equaliser and suffered a 2-1 defeat a week out from the Community Shield curtain-raiser against Arsenal.

The versatile Portuguese midfielder arrived at San Siro last summer from Sporting CP and enjoyed a fairly promising, if not spectacular, debut campaign in Italy, scoring three goals and assisting five more in 30 Serie A appearances.

Inter took the lead in controversial fashion in first-half stoppage time as Cesar Azpilicueta was penalised for a soft challenge on Stevan Jovetic inside the box.

Chelsea fans were quick to point the finger at Conte afterwards, with Morata used out of position on the left-hand side of Chelsea's attack, allowing Michy Batshuayi to occupy the central striker role.

Inter were firmly in control until an unbelievable own goal gifted Chelsea a way back into the match in the 74th minute when Geoffrey Kondogbia inexplicably lofted an overhit back pass over Daniele Padelli from near the halfway line.

"In that role we can not replace him, even if this market is unpredictable".

Inter had the first chance of the game early on but Thibaut Courtois made a save before Gary Cahill blocked a follow-up effort.

Chelsea have emerged as suitors of Candreva, who only joined Inter last season. But the former worldwide midfielder also quickly won a reputation for displaying his full range of emotions on the sidelines, including jumping into the arms of Chelsea fans to celebrate goals.

"I had never been to Singapore before and it's a attractive city", said Spalletti. "In the future my strength will be less and then maybe I will try to keep myself calm and more seated".
