For Honor offers free trial this weekend

For Honor is Getting a Free Weekend From Thursday

Ubisoft has announced that For Honor will be free to play this weekend.

In fact, those on PlayStation 4 and Uplay members can already pre-load the game right now.

For Honor, Ubisoft's standalone hack and slash IP from earlier this year is getting a free-to-play event later this week.

This is obviously Ubisoft's way of giving the game some extra attention before the third season starts next week, so it'll be interesting to see how well it works.

The free trial will include the entire game so expect a hefty download. As is the case with every other game that's had a free weekend recently, all you need to do is download the file from your platform's respective store and be ready to jump into battle from August 10. From August 10-20, all versions of the game will be 50% off on the PlayStation and Xbox stores. With the free trial running from August 10-13, it gives players just enough time to build up some progression and decided if they want to continue that momentum with the paid version.

The entirety of the game will be available during the trial, and any progressed achieved will carry over if a player decides to buy the main game.

Two days after the trial ends, the Season 3 update will be released for For Honor which is set to be the game's biggest update to date.
