Knicks hire Barack Obama's brother-in-law

The Milwaukee Bucks front office executive has risen his way through the National Basketball Association ranks, but is perhaps best known for his relation to Obama: Robinson is the brother-in-law to the ex-President. Craig Robinson, Michelle Obama's brother, and brother-in-law to the former commander-in-chief, has been hired by the New York Knicks According to reports, Robinson will assume a "player development role" with the team. ESPN then confirmed it.

Robinson, 55, will have a role handling player development and take on the responsibilities of the Knicks' G-League team in Westchester.

The Knicks have restructured the front office since parting with Phil Jackson, promoting Steve Mills to president and hiring Scott Perry as general manager.

Gone are the days of the big splash or bust New York Knicks. He was in charge of player and organizational development. That role is expected to continue to be filled by Allan Houston, sources said.

Robinson has also held positions as head coach for the Brown Bears and Oregon State Beavers, and as assistant coach for the Northwestern Wildcats. Robinson has coaching and executive experience on the college and professional levels.
