With Matthews officially in for the Bills and Watkins now with the Los Angeles Rams, in addition to a 2018 sixth-round pick, the NFC West franchise then sent another cornerback in E.J.

In a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo acquired a potential new number one receiver to replace Watkins in the form of Jordan Matthews. The latest Bills news and rumors have indicated that the team participated in two different trades as of Friday. Matthews has been a relatively productive receiver in Philadelphia, but doesn't bring the big play ability that Watkins does. Buffalo will now have two picks in each of the first three rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The former Clemson standout has 153 catches for 2,459 yards and 17 touchdowns in three National Football League seasons despite undergoing multiple foot surgeries.

There were reports the Eagles would be open to trading Jordan Matthews as far back as February, so it certainly comes as no surprise the club finally pulled the trigger.

Instead of the players the Bills received in return, the key to whether this trade will be successful for Buffalo is the draft picks they acquired.

Brooks, who was in line to be the Eagles' slot corner this season, suffered a hamstring injury in the Eagles' 24-9 loss at Green Bay on Thursday night. With that number nearly certainly rising in 2017, you can expect a bump in pass attempts, which wasn't hard to do to begin with, seeing as the Bills have ranked in the bottom-two for pass attempts in each of the last two years.

He joins a secondary that lacks top-notch cornerbacks. A three-time Atlantic Coast Conference champion, Darby was named the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year as a freshman in 2012 and helped the Seminoles win the BCS National Championship in 2013.

The Bills originally had the ninth overall selection but, traded up to fourth with the Cleveland Browns to select Watkins. "Love you bro. I'll definitely miss doing this with you!"

As for what the Eagles are getting in Darby, Roseman said: "He has rare speed".
